Meet Samantha

About Samantha Rose

Growing up, I was always a bit of a writer. From essays to "day in the life" short stories drafted in a 99 cent spiral notebook, I felt there was always a story to be written. Flash forward into my teenage years and beyond, I started up random blogs here and there, but nothing ever stuck. It wasn't until 2014 when I was fighting the cubicle life that I found I desperately needed a creative outlet...thus, Samantha Rose Says was born.

I graduated from the University of South Florida with a degree in mass communication, specializing in public relations, in 2013. Almost immediately following graduation, I began working in sales for a couple of years before I realized that the field of media, branding, and public relations no longer suited me. I yearned for something that felt more meaningful.

I quit my job in 2015 and began pursuing speech-language pathology by taking post-bacc classes before getting into graduate school at USF (round two!). I earned my master's degree in speech-language pathology in August 2018, and now work at a pediatric outpatient facility. There are plenty of tough days, but the good outweighs the bad, and I love the feeling of making a difference.

Born and raised a Florida girl, I'm a big believer in the idea that the summer sun and salt water can cure just about any bad mood...but there's nothing I love more than waking up to a gray, stormy morning. Books and journaling bring me a sense of calm, no matter the weather. I'm 28 years old, married to my very favorite person, and a dog mom of two sweet pups.

I love the sense of community blogging has brought me thus far - as much as I blog for myself, I blog to share my story with others, too. I'm happy you're here.

  1. Hi Samantha! Just stumbled across your blog and had to say hi to a fellow Florida girl. I'm also a fan of a good strawberry marg...they're so much better than lime ones! Looking forward to following along! :)

  2. I stumbled across your account through Lauren-Loves. I am a speech therapist in Canada, and also love discussing names! I think your blog will become one that I read frequently :)
